Started calligraphy at the age of 7, Sachiyo Kaneko graduated from Tsuda University, in faculty of international and cultural studies. In 2016, Kaneko moved to Spain to develop her artistic approach of calligraphy art. She was inspired by the energetic Spanish culture, which was very different from her strict and classical background of Japanese calligraphy. Her beautiful lines and energetic, innovative artworks reflect her unique sensibility. Kaneko’s art gives a fresh and contemporary twist to calligraphy art. She is active in Japan and abroad, doing art performances and calligraphy demonstrations.
