Madoka YOKOYAMASuim-e artist

Graduated from the Department of Japanese Painting at Joshibi University of Art and Design, Yokoyama is part of the board member of the Contemporary Ink Painting Association, the Suiboku-ga Association. She has received numerous awards such as the Encouragement award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the Governor of Tokyo Award at the Gensui-Ten, a public exhibition of Suiboku-ga. Yokoyama exhibited in Elementum Exhibition in Melbourne, Her works, characterized by delicate yet bold strokes and elegant use of negative space, bring a stylish and modern approach to traditional ink art, seamlessly fitting into contemporary interiors. As a leading artist in modern Sumi ink painting, she has brought fresh, innovative perspectives to the art form. Her works has appeared in Suntory’s commercial advertisments.
