Carre MOJI, born in 2002 as a specialty gallery for interior Japanese calligraphy, was reborn this April as the refined new brand Moji Gallery.
This exhibition is the first step in celebrating Moji Gallery’s launch. From here, we will revive traditional calligraphy, elevate it into contemporary art that resonates with the senses, and share it with the world. We invite you to enjoy the “new forms of Japanese calligraphy” created by the nine calligraphers of Moji Gallery.

Whispers in the character
Lines have straight and curved forms, and their combinations form characters that convey our thoughts. As thinking about it, characters are pure abstraction, and especially Kanji—which embody the accumulated wisdom, experience, and aesthetic sensibilities of our ancestors exude a charm that goes beyond mere symbols.
The artworks created by Moji Gallery’s calligraphers (artists), who express these “characters” composed of dots and lines with rich expression, can truly be called art.
And we believe the scenery expanded from these artworks can be shared with many people, transcending national and cultural differences.
This exhibition is the first step in launching Moji Gallery.
We will revive traditional calligraphy, elevate it into contemporary art that resonates with the senses, and share it with the world. May the whisper in the character, like beautiful scenery, reach your heart.
